Today, February 15 is National Flag Day! At the stroke of noon on February 15, 1965, Canada’s red and white maple leaf flag was raised for the very first time on Parliament Hill. On the same day in 1996, National Flag of Canada Day was declared.

During the month of February DDSB schools focus on the character trait "Kindness." February 17 is Random Act Kindness day (RAK), we encourage everyone to take the opportunity to brighten someones day with a simple random act of kindness.

Language is Power. Don’t let yours disappear. Learn it, speak it, teach it if you can. Happy international Mother Language Day.
